Mexico 2013

Ready to take off!
The day after Halloween last year Mike and I left on a week trip to Mexico with his work. We left bright and early in the morning and drove down to Provo because the guys had an afternoon of work meetings to go to before we were to fly out the following day. We drove down with a few of our friends. Luckily we work with a lot of awesome people- it was such a fun trip! When we got to Utah Sheryl and I dropped the boys off and went to do a little shopping! After we picked the boys up we went to downtown SLC and cruised the mall there and had dinner at Tucanos then headed to the hotel by the airport for our early morning flight.    We had a layover in Arizona and then arrived in Mexico! We Stayed at a resort about an hour away from Cancun in Playa del Carmen. I actually got a little sick on the flight over and was sick the night we got in. I was 16  weeks pregnant while we took this trip. I tried to eat some delicious street tacos they had at the resort and immediately had to run to the bathroom. I think i threw up more on the flight from Arizona down to Mexico and that night at the resort more than the rest of my pregnancy combined it was terrible-- I remember hoping the whole trip wouldn't be that way. Luckily the next morning after a long night of sleep and getting to sleep in I felt great! The first day there we toured the resort and hit the spa- then later that night took a taxi into downtown to do some exploring. The following day Mike and I did a group Xenotes (natural sink holes) tour and then that night was his company rewards ceremony and dinner. We also went to Xei Ha and Tulum while we were there! Our last night there we crammed like 24 of us into a 16 passenger van and headed into downtown again to hang out one last time.  Good times good times. Mike and I had heard about these really cheap great massages on the beach so Mike REALLY wanted to get one. We ended up staying later than everyone else with our friends Matt and Elise and getting a massage on the beach at 11 at night-- I loved hearing the waves while getting the massage ( we made sure to keep our stuff right underneath where we could see it). Side note; their was a guy ( the boss guy we are assuming) that sat and watched the ladies do our massages - so that was a little weird but all in all a good experience.
View from our Suite - We were right on the beach- originally they put us in a different room with separate beds haha so mike paid out of pocket to upgrade us to a beach entry suite :)

Mike loved all the hand carved wooden chess sets--- ended up bargaining and getting one.
They were all crazy expensive at around $600-$1400 and up --- luckily mike talked them down A LOT!  He told them he wouldn't pay over $100 ---

Mike and I tested out the spa at the resort with a couple of Pedicures - Mike was disappointed with his -- mine on the other hand was great :)

Tulum

Having tiny little fish eat the dead skin off our feet- my feet have never been softer!

Best carmels EVER!

At the Rewards Ceremony

After the Rewards Ceremony on our nightly crepe run!

Mmm unlimited crepes and ice cream!

Crepes!

Our Xenotes Tour - We did Cliff jumping, Zip lining, Snorkeling, canoeing rappelling
and swimming in these caves it was really cool!

We repelled down into this enclosed sink hole cave where we could swim and cliff jump of some rock ledges within the cave. It was crazy cool-- the lady had a flashlight and when she would shine in down into the water you would see that you were swimming with a lot of fish and when she shined it up you would see hundreds and hundreds of bats!

Tulum

Tulum Beach - LOVED it!

Probably my favorite beach I have been to! Great waves completely sandy bottom that you can walk out a ways on and the water felt great! This was so much fun and probably my favorite thing we did.
